Clancy VFD Tender IICVFD welcomed its newest member: a new tender truck to replace the aging tanker at the main station. The truck committee introduced the new truck, which the department had customized, at the monthly business meeting. Training for September included how to drive the vehicle and operate the pumps. The truck is a 1999 Kenworth T800, with a 13-speed transmission, a CAT engine, and was outfitted with a tank that can carry over 3800 gallons of water. In order to accommodate the tank, the vehicle length had to be extended an extra seven feet. CVFD had custom tool boxes, hose tubes and pump control idenifications. The committee is now beginning a search for a truck that can work on both structure and wildland fires (an urban interface vehicle) to replace one of the structure trucks.
